The budget segment is getting crowded in India and the brands that mainly operate in this segment are the brands under Transsion Holdings like Tecno, Infinix and Itel. All of them have launched new smartphones in this segment and one such latest release is the Itel A70. It is the first smartphone to offer 256GB storage under Rs 8,000 in India where the exact price of the particular model is Rs 7,299. Itel sent us a review unit of the A70 and we're here to decide whether you should buy this smartphone or not. Design and display The design of the Itel A70 is very similar to the smartphones we recently reviewed from Tecno & Infinix, except for the color and pattern variations on the back panel.
The bezel is completely flat, while the Fax Lists right spine holds all the buttons. Of these, the power button doubles up as a fingerprint sensor, which remains the best performance. Then, the Itel A70 feels light with an attractive design. The gold version we received also includes a blue shade where the linear pattern appears in that color. The rear design language is also similar to the design language of Infinix Smart 8 , Smart 8 HD and Tecno Spark Go 2024 . Itel also provides a black silicone case inside the box which is a nice touch. Overall, it's an interesting phone. Display Itel a70 As for the display, it is a 6.6-inch panel with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a 90% screen-to-body ratio, a brightness of 500 nits, a touch sampling rate of 120 Hz and an aspect ratio of 20:9.
It's not the best display in the world, with viewing angles that go awry, and brightness levels that are too low. The colors are good, but the fact that it has a 60Hz refresh rate while its competitors from sister brands have a 90Hz refresh rate bothers me and is also disappointing. Program and Performance The A70 packs up to 4GB of RAM along with up to 8GB of virtual RAM. It is offered in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. A 5,000mAh battery supports the device with 10W charging support. iTel A70 runs Android 13 OS and has Unisoc T603 So at its helm. Screenshots of Itel OS During our review of the Itel A70, the RAM management was not the best, while the software was exactly the same as the Tecno and Infinix devices.
